09:16 pm [Link]	Another big WoW milestone Can you believe I've been playing WoW for three years? And I still enjoy it as much as I did that first month. Some people might say I'm easily amused (because how could I obsess about a game for this long?) but it's so fun! Well today, I hit another huge milestone: I mage tanked Krosh Firehand in Gruul's Lair!!!! Ever since we started doing joint 25-man raids with another guild, I started slowly working on my high-stamina gear. In my previous trip to Gruul's Lair, there were four mages and only one of us had enough health to tank Krosh. You need a minimum of 10,000 unbuffed, and I was only in my 7000s. Well earlier this week, after getting the Battlecast Hood and Pants, and doing everything I could to get more health on my frost mage, I finally hit 10,100 unbuffed. I was excited because I knew it meant we might have an option to do Gruul's Lair if the other geared mage couldn't show up. Well, she showed up... but we only had 3 healers. That place needs 6-7 healers, so our geared mage was asked to switch to her healing priest--after they determined that I could be the mage tank! I was really really nervous and for the initial pull, I had to breathe deeply because my hands were shaking! It took us four wipes--but not all of those were my fault! But each of those attempts gave me more experience until I had a really good grasp of what I was doing. In the end, I was able to successfully tank Krosh and we were able to kill Maulgar!! Yay!!! So here for your visual pleasure is my postcard from there. Sorry, it's not a shot of me actually killing Krosh because I forgot (and DURING the fight I was too busy to take a screenshot). 09:39 am [Link]	Karazhan changes = Disneyland's Haunted Mansion! For years I had an annual pass to Disneyland, and the Haunted Mansion has always been one of my favorite. Imagine my delight last night when, zoning into Kara, I hear some "foreboding" organ music in the foyer area! I couldn't help myself. I wrote: /say When hinges creek in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the hall, whenever candlelights flicker...where the air is deathly still...that is the time when ghosts are present...practicing their terror...with ghoulish delight. ...unfortunately I am on a Midwest server and I don't think anybody got it. In fact one guy asked me if I was reciting the narration by Vincent Price for "Thriller." D'oh! One extremely annoying bug... channelled spells (mind flay, drain life, etc.) did not hit Attumen (and the mobs leading up to him), but instead would point straight up into the ceiling! It would still spell hit, but the animation was broken. ... Later that night, we did a quick Scarlet Monastery run with a few of our alts to see if we noticed any changes. We had a 70 rogue, 39 lock, 24 spriest, 27 rogue, and 30 mage. We went through the Graveyard three times and the Library twice, and all the lowbies leveled at least once. If we'd run through there another time or two we would've leveled a second time. Talk about fast leveling. At one point the rogue brought pretty much the entire section's worth of elite mobs back towards us so we'd get xp without risking aggro, and as he was killing each one and the XP would be recorded in our chat log, you could actually SEE our XP bars ticking up like a second hand on a clock! 02:24 am [Link]	The Squashling is mine! The Squashling dropped not once, but TWICE tonight on our group! Our warrior won the first round, but then he was nice enough to give it to me (I had the second highest roll and people knew I was there for the pet). He won the second one though, so good karma. =) I thought I'd share this pic... it's of me standing outside the Graveyard entrance of SM, and someone turned me into a leper gnome and put a jack-o-latern head on me. At that height, the Sinister Squashling is the same height as me... so what else is a leper gnome to do but /dance? So I did. Much to the amusement of those who were there. Can I say, I LOVE this pet? When he gets tired he sits down, and looks like a squat little Jack o'lantern. But when he walks around, his leaves and roots rustle!! too cute. ( Read more... ) Enjoy! 09:37 am [Link]	Gruul's Lair: Krosh mage tank pull? OK so we got our faces pwned last night just trying to learn positioning and whatnot on Maulgar's encounter. And at least once (if not every time), our mage could not get his timing right to grab aggro on Krosh. So... How tricky is this for mages? Anyone have experience with this? (Leave a comment)

His company is working with MMO companies to come up with a way to be an "official commerce provider." PlaySpan, based in Santa Clara, Calif. says it offers game publishers a technology that lets users make payments and shop for other items. It calls itself the first "publisher-sponsored in-game commerce network." Arjun Mehta, a 6th grader, says on his Web site that he is passionate about software that can make the game experience more "rewarding," and that he started the company last year in his garage. 12:25 pm [Link]	I was thinking about how I should really have a venue to write about my forays in WoW, either as Teniblue or as one of my many other characters. I didn't even think about the fact that I already have this LJ. So... I'll start keeping a journal of what I do in the game. 04:59 pm [Link]	I just got back into Deadside after helping a warlock summon a second warrior, when I got kicked from the game. I can go into other servers but Garona won't let me back in. I was the only priest, and I don't know what's wrong! ...although I might not be the only one; the WoW forums are down because the "server is too busy." That tells me something's up. (Leave a comment)
